R Dataset / Package Zelig / sanction

On this R-data statistics page, you will find information about the sanction data set which pertains to Multilateral Economic Sanctions. The sanction data set is found in the Zelig R package. You can load the sanction data set in R by issuing the following command at the console data("sanction"). This will load the data into a variable called sanction. If R says the sanction data set is not found, you can try installing the package by issuing this command install.packages("Zelig") and then attempt to reload the data with the library() command. If you need to download R, you can go to the R project website. You can download a CSV (comma separated values) version of the sanction R data set. The size of this file is about 2,237 bytes.

Multilateral Economic Sanctions

Description

Data on bilateral sanctions behavior for selected years during the general period 1939-1983. This data contains errors that have since been corrected. Please contact Lisa Martin before using this data for publication.

Format

A table containing 8 variables ("mil", "coop", "target", "import", "export", "cost", "num", and "ncost") and 78 observations. For full variable description, see Martin, 1992.
